Dear Member,

We invite you to join Bob & Ruth's fourth exciting cruise-tour to the scenic wonderland known as Alaska. Since our first sailing in May 2000, our Alaska programs have been popular sellouts. On August 29, 2008, the next adventure begins in scintillating Seattle at the Marriott Waterfront Hotel, within steps of famous Pike's Market. Then set sail for a week aboard the luxurious Westerdam, cruising along scenery beyond description.

Gliding past fjords, forests, waterfalls, islands and mountains, your eyes will be alert for bald eagles, sea otters and seals sunbathing on glacier chunks, and breeching whales during the long daylight hours. The ports of call are varied and unique. Highlights of the voyage include spectacular Glacier Bay with its dazzling tidewater glaciers, and serenely scenic Misty Fjords. The intensity of the colors and sounds, the blue of the glacier ice, the thunderous roar of glacial calving and ‘popcorn' – unforgettable!

And of course, THE FOOD! Gluten-free Alaskan delicacies such as halibut steak and bay shrimp, King crab legs, sesame roasted salmon filets on the grill, Alaska cod filets, roasted duck, Alaskan berries and Baked Alaska - the Dessert Extravaganza. Plus bagels, muffins, pancakes, French toast, baked desserts, and much more.

We are also pleased to announce that Carolyn Weglein will be escorting this cruise. She was a Founding Member and Past President of the Baltimore Celiac Support Group, Chairperson of the Baltimore Walk for CFCR, since its inception, and mother of two healthy grown celiac children (one our webmaster). She and her family are experienced travelers, having traveled with us and on their own extensively for many years. We know that once you get to know her, you will agree that she will do us proud as Bob & Ruth's representative on this trip.

Experience the excitement of cruising and enjoying a real taste of Alaska, while being treated to some of the finest food, gluten-free (and that other stuff). It's a breathtaking trip of a lifetime. As always, what a great opportunity for those on a gluten-free diet to share a vacation with friends and family, without the usual hassles.
